The open-source (chirp.danplanet.com) is a favorite among hobbyists. As of the latest CHIRP daily build (as of 2025), the Weierwei VEV3288S is NOT natively listed. However, many users report success using the Baofeng UV-5R profile with the “Kerberos SDR” driver or by selecting “Weierwei VEV-3288” (without S) and forcing upload.
