You may encounter logs similar to [Init] Firmware version check failed: expected >= 16.0.4, got 15.0.1 if the game requires a newer firmware version than what you've installed. While Yuzu provides a "Bypass version check" option in Settings > System , this is only recommended for older games—newer titles relying on newer SDK features may experience texture tearing or audio stuttering if forced to run on older firmware. Re-dump firmware from your Switch using the latest Lockpick_RCM. Never mix files from different firmware versions.
Verified firmware often comes with a checksum (a unique digital fingerprint) to ensure the file is identical to the one dumped from a real Switch.
